Basel station Practical information

Opened in 1854 and completely rebuilt in 1907, Basel train station is the city’s largest station, ahead of Basel’s Badischer Bahnhof. For journeys to France, Basel train station has an annex called Bâle SNCF, which is served by its own tracks and is separated by a customs barrier. 🚗 Did you come by car?

If you came by car: We recommend the Centralbahnparking (in German) car park.

🚲 If you cycle: A stone’s throw from the station, cyclists can leave their bike in one of 650 free spaces; bikes can also be parked in a paid area not open to the public and protected from the elements, in partnership with 'Vélostation' (in French)
